Arenal Volcano and Tabacón Hot Springs
3 days / 2 nights
A dazzling display of fire and smoke awaits you at the Arenal Volcano and Tabacón Hot Springs adventure. This tour departs San José in the late morning, making it a good option for those who would like to sleep in a little. After a scenic three and a half hour drive through lush hills and verdant rain forests, you will arrive at the Hotel Arenal Paraíso, a stylish and comfortable lodge set against the backdrop of the majestic, and active Arenal Volcano. This awe-inspiring cone-shaped volcano frequently rewards visitors with spectacular displays of natural fireworks and billowing columns of dense smoke and ash that rise hundreds of feet into the sky. Clear evenings bring on an even more amazing sight as the explosive volcano coughs up crimson lava and enormous boulders from its smoldering top.
The next day, after an early morning breakfast, you will visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges, a 3-km rain forest circuit of interpretive trails and suspended bridges. The imposing vistas of the volcano from the hanging bridges over the forest, make a perfect combination for an unforgettable experience. Following a leisurely lunch in the early afternoon, you will hike up a path that ushers you through meadows and forests up the base of the volcano to hardened lava flows. Enjoy spectacular views of Lake Arenal and the surrounding rain forest as one of our tour guides leads you along Arenal Volcano National Park. The day ends at Tabacón Resort, where you will have an opportunity to relax your weary body in magical springs as you view the luscious tropical gardens that cling to the lower reaches of the volcano. The Tabacón River originates deep within the core of the volcano, and its thermal waters gush forth at about 102 degrees Fahrenheit year around. The tepid waters are the source for sparkling waterfalls and warm water pools that will soak your worries away. Take some time to indulge yourself at the exclusive Tabacón Spa while choosing between facials, therapeutic massages or volcanic mud treatments. A heart-warming dinner will be served at Tabacon before returning to your hotel.
The following day you will take a guided, easy-going bike ride along a paved road that meanders through forests and lovely scenery surrounding the base of the Arenal Volcano. You will be back in San José by late evening feeling thoroughly relaxed and carefree.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and look forward to coming

Next time we want to spend more time in Arenal - what a beautiful
place. Thank you so much for putting together such a wonderful
