Corcovado Rainforest Adventure
4 days / 3 nights
This four-day jungle adventure begins with a short plane ride from San José to the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The 45-minute flight traverses towering mountain passes layered with lush tropical forests and cascading waterfalls, before descending to the frontier town of Palmar Sur. Guests will then be transported to Drake Bay by motorboat along the mangrove-lined Sierpe River to La Paloma Jungle Lodge. Nestled within a 150-acre private reserve, the lodge is only a 15 minutes boat-ride away from the Corcovado National Park entrance. The park is a refuge to many of Costa Rica's endangered species, and it is the only remaining Pacific lowland rainforest of sustainable size in Central America.
La Paloma Lodge rests atop a high bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean on Costa Rica's isolated Drake Bay which is named after Sir Francis Drake who landed here in 1579. This delightful jungle get-away provides a stunning view of the plush tropical forest as it approaches the clear blue waters of Drake Bay, and it’s the perfect place to begin your exploration of Corcovado National Park. Depending on your individual tastes, your time at the lodge can be divided between peaceful naps, sumptuous gourmet meals, a swim in the spring-fed pool or a relaxing moment at the bar enjoying the peace and serenity of this jungle paradise.
The following two days will be filled with adventure and discovery as you visit mysterious Caño Island for an unforgettable snorkeling experience, and a guided trek into the world famous Corcovado National Park.
Described as "one of the most biologically intense places on earth" by National Geographic Magazine, Corcovado's trails wind through virgin jungle allowing you to explore its innumerable plant and animal species amid exuberant orchid-draped streams.
Corcovado National Park is home to the majority of the peninsula's biological diversity, including 13 major ecosystems that hold Costa Rica's greatest wealth of wildlife.
