Monteverde Cloud Forest - A Honeymoon Fairytale...
The Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, one of Costa Rica’s most exotic and lush mountain habitats, extends its reach along the continental divide in western Costa Rica. Thick clouds continually drift in and settle among the slopes, providing a constant source of humidity that nourishes the luxuriant vegetation. A wide degree of altitude variation within the forest creates ideal conditions for a vast array of plant species. Arenal Volcano: Natural Warmth for Your Soul!

Day 1: After a hearty Monteverde breakfast (or another starting point), you will continue on to La Fortuna de San Carlos, near Lake Arenal and Arenal Volcano. The volcano’s perfect cone dominates the skyline and provides frequent firework displays that are accompanied by loud explosions and multi-colored clouds of smoke and ash. Once in Arenal, you will head to the exclusive Tabacón Resort, the perfect base for you and your partner to discover the enchantment of this lovely area.

Get ready for an exciting afternoon of discovery and relaxation! Explore a trail that meanders through meadows and forests up the base of the volcano to hardened lava flows, or make an appointment at the resort's natural spa for a soothing mud facial or a relaxing massage. Whichever way you desire to spend your day, don’t miss a late afternoon soothing soak in Tabacón Resort’s steaming natural waters – originating directly from the volcano. If you prefer to combine either the Monteverde Cloud Forest or Arenal Volcano with our Pacuare Adventure, you will overnight in Sarapiquí at the Sueño Azul Resort, a charming lodge that rises over a lush hillside. Pacuare Jungle Adventure: An Exhilarating Ride to a Romantic Paradise! (3 Days)
A thrilling ride down the Pacuare River will immerse you in roaring rapids and breathtaking scenery as the river twists and turns amid a virgin tropical rain forest. Countless varieties of animals and birds thrive in this pristine tropical paradise, making this adventure one of excitement and discovery!

Hand in hand you will stand silently in awe, watching the indomitable Pacuare River dash to and fro beneath crimson skies, as the last of the sun’s rays sprinkle through the rain forest canopy in a shower of brilliant colors.

Day 1 - Pacuare River Rafting
Plunge into the adventure of a lifetime as you navigate the challenging rapids of the Pacuare River, considered by expert rafters to be the most wild and scenic class III-IV rapids on the planet!

Before setting off on this exhilarating river, our veteran guides will instruct you on all necessary safety precautions. Once in the water, you'll experience the thrill of rushing waves, swirling foam, and expanses of tranquil water amid steep gorges thick with teeming verdant rain forest.

The first day’s five-mile run comes to an exciting end at our very own Pacuare Lodge - an enchanting retreat nestled in the midst of an ethereal rain forest. Surrounded by majestic trees, the rustic style two-story main lodge provides comfortable dining facilities on the first floor, and plenty of relaxing hammocks in the charming second floor open-air lounge.
Modern wooden bungalows come equipped with private bathroom and shower, and beds with fresh linens. Each bungalow lies beneath towering trees that have protected this forest for centuries. Spend a romantic moment watching the sun slowly sink behind the forest canopy amid a blaze of orange and pink. Then, enjoy a delightful time at our upstairs bar and game room, followed by a succulent gourmet dinner. As evening draws to a close, pick up a lantern and head off to your charming bungalow for a night of romantic bliss!

Day 2 - A Day Exploring the Pacuare Wilderness...
After a hearty breakfast, you'll take a guided hike into the jungle surrounding the lodge. Tendrils of mist cling to the trees as you head deep into a lush forest wonderland. This close encounter with nature will allow you to view tropical birds, butterflies, exotic plants and animals interacting in their natural environment - the ideal backdrop for enduring photographs and memories. For the more adventurous, there is a five to six-hour trek into the mountains to an area where groups of indigenous Cabecar families reside. You will return to the Pacuare Lodge in time to freshen up and relax before indulging in a romantic candlelit dinner prepared by one of our gourmet chefs. As the sun slowly sinks behind the rain forest canopy, sneak off with your companion to your bungalow, for soothing peaceful slumber.

Day 3 - Pacuare River Rafting
Dawn breaks the stillness that hovers over the Pacuare Lodge with the singing calls of exotic tropical birds and the pleasant rush of the river as it passes close by. A delicious breakfast of freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee, pancakes, eggs, fresh fruit and mouth watering home made bread awaits you before the start of your final day of rafting.
The second day of river rafting is filled with challenging class III-IV rapids, providing an exhilarating adventure packed thirteen-mile ride. You will certainly enjoy your river adventure even more today, as you and your partner put to the test the skills and practice gained from yesterday’s ride.
Along the way your guides will stop the rafts and escort you up paths and side streams that open onto dazzling waterfalls and natural water slides. Take time to marvel at the spectacular scenery, swim in deep crystal clear pools, and splash around to your hearts content! Later, a tasty deli-style lunch will be served along the riverbank.
The day ends with a crowning sense of achievement at having taken on one of the world’s most wild and scenic rivers.
Change into dry clothes at our private river take-out facilities, before boarding a comfortable mini-van for the trip back to San José or to your next honeymoon adventure...
